Postgraduate Students Completed an Academic Exchange in Hong Kong

From 3 to 6November, 2025, ten postgraduates visited Hong Kong for an academic exchange programme hosted by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) School of Nursing and Queen Mary Hospital.

The stduentsattended a series of lectures at HKU covering topics such as applied renal physiology, endocrine emergencies, healthcare leadership, and symptom management in end-of-life care. They also visited the HKU School of Nursing Simulation Lab to observe advanced clinical teaching facilities.

At theQueen Mary Hospital, they visited key clinical departments including the Accident & Emergency Department, Adult Intensive Care Unit, and Cardiology and Cardiac Specialty Ward. They also learned about the Hong Kong Genome Project and the HA Go mobile health application.

At the welcome meeting on 3November, the SYSU students delivered a 10–15 minute presentation introducing Sun Yat-sen University, School of Nursing, and the healthcare system in mainland China. On 5November, theyshared their learning gains and personal reflections, followed by a certificate presentation ceremony. The students expressed that this exchange not only broadened their international perspectives but also deepened their understanding of Hong Kong’s advanced nursing practices, interprofessional collaboration, and patient-centered care models. They highlighted that the experience had inspired them to reflect on ways to improve clinical teaching and healthcare services in their own contexts.
